Any Boy But You Julie Hammerle Books Reviews
This is a modern version of You Got Mail for teens. It's a cute, lighthearted, easy read. The story was paced perfectly, there were no boring bits, the main characters were all enjoyable and the story will leave you smiling.
Not a very good book, in my opinion. Felt more like it was focusing on the best friend's issues and decisions, but the main characters were rather stagnant in their issues and being jerks to each other until a somewhat sudden change close to the end. The story felt like it dragged until people actually started changing and taking action in the last few chapters. I kept expecting it to change, but it took a frustratingly long time. Not a very enjoyable read.
Adore Julie Hammerle's sense of humor. This book is funny and clever and sweet. It's a perfect winter / Valentine's Day sweet romance for anyone who loves You've Got Mail inspired enemies-to-lovers romance stories. The Pokemon Go-esque game gives it a fresh, new twist.
I could've used more romance and a lot sooner. The book turned in the middle and made a sub plot the main plot which took the romance out of it, in my opinion. Not a bad book though.
I liked the story but didn't like that Elana scores Oliver in the begging she said he was a nine just buy his looks then found out he was a prince and thought he was a six and in the end she changed her mind and I don't think u should label a person like that but I am giving it a 3 because all and all I enjoyed the story. If it didn't have that in it I would give it a 4 or 5.
I don't know when I have enjoyed Character Dialogue more...Oh Yeah it was when I read the Sound of Us! Please Keep writing Ms. Hammerle, I am hoping to see some sequals to these book because I have fallen in love with your Characters!! Such fun reads with good endings! I would like to meet you someday...must look for a book signing!
I really liked this book because it was a unique spin on a classic tale. Two teens from feuding families meet through the message board of a game app and start messaging each other without knowing they are messaging their sworn enemy (that's a bit dramatic but you get the idea). They become friendly, open up to each other and start to have deeper feelings only to find out who the other is. It sounds simple but this book has layers. It completely sucked me in. I definitely recommend it.
